Conservative mayoral candidate, Zac Goldsmith, has just confirmed that he is backing the extension of the Croydon Tramlink to Sutton.
Goldsmith visited the London borough yesterday, accompanied by Chancellor George Osborne.
Following discussions, the MP suggested that the extension would benefit residents by increasing the Greater London transport network.
If these changes go ahead like it is hoped, land and property prices will increase further in both Croydon and Sutton, emphasising once again that it is a brilliant time to buy.
According to reports (The Croydon Guardian), Sutton Council has been pushing for the changes for nearly three years.
The cost for both phases is estimated at between £200 and £400 million but the project is projected to bring major economic and social benefits to South London, including creating more than 10,000 long-term jobs, improving access to education, retail and leisure facilities, transport capacity growth and a reduction in car usage.
Prices start at just £240,950.
