If you’ve recently purchased in the area, you’ll be happy to hear that Croydon’s property prices experienced the sixth biggest house price increase in the UK in 2015, and they are only due to continue in this upward direction.
The average price of a house in the borough rose by 16.1 per cent during the year compared with 2014, according to banking chain Halifax.
Homes in Croydon are now worth an average of £329,429 compared to £283,704 at the end of last year. In addition, prices have increased by a huge 43% over the last ten years (Zoopla), and that was before the official regeneration schemes kicked in.
According to estate agents, the Croydon market is being driven by buyers priced out of central London, who are having to look elsewhere. They are on the hunt for homes which have excellent transport links, and diverse facilities, which Croydon now offers.
