Judged by a panel of readers and specialist architects from a shortlist of around 200 entries, the awards champion excellence across the capital’s new homes market, from first-time apartments and mainstream family homes to riverside penthouses and grand Surrey mansions.
The awards ceremony took place on Friday at The Dorchester on Park Lane, hosted by comedian Romesh Ranganathan and presented by Team GB hockey star Kate Richardson-Walsh. Sutton Court was entered for Best First-Time Buyer Home and came runner-up in this year’s category. The judges commented that Sutton Court “used ‘out of the box’ thinking to get people on the property ladder.”
Located in the heart of Sutton town centre, the development recycles a redundant 1960s-office building creating 73 micro-apartments and nine exclusive penthouses presented within a stunning new residential façade. The apartments are designed for modern living with high-spec, high tech features including NEST Smart thermostats, 1GB Hyperoptic broadband, engineered hardwood floors, Bosch appliances, granite worktops and Villeroy & Boch bathrooms, while natural light and the feeling of space is enhanced through hallway-free design and floor-to-ceiling French doors that open onto private balconies.
The micro-apartments are now fully sold with only four standard-sized penthouses remaining. Continuing Inspired’s hallway-free approach to layout, living space at the Sutton Court penthouse is around 40% larger than a typical new-build apartment of the same square footage, making the 51m2 (545sqft) one-bed apartments and 73m2 two-beds (786sqft) look and feel enormous by comparison.
Inspired is holding a launch event for its newly furnished one-bedroom penthouse on Thursday, 25 May between 4pm and 7pm.
Neil Taylor, Sales Director at Inspired Homes, said: “The Evening Standard New Homes Awards are the most coveted awards for new homes in the capital so we are delighted to be Highly Commended for Sutton Court. Having also been Highly Commended at the First-Time Buyer Reader’s Awards in April, this shows what a cracking little scheme Sutton Court is. It has been one of our most popular developments to date. We wish we had more to sell but unfortunately for buyers there are only four left. With the development due to be completed next month, we now have a penthouse show apartment which we are making available for viewings this Thursday.”
Prices start at £404,950. To enquire or book a place at the penthouse launch call the sales team on 020 8688 6552.
