Yesterday, on our first day back in the office, Inspired was given some welcome news – Stockport Council consented our plans to transform an old office building in Greater Manchester into 184 new studio, one and two-bedroom apartments.
Located in Cheadle Hulme, a trendy Manchester suburb seven miles from the city centre and five miles from Manchester Airport, the development sits moments from the railway station allowing residents to reach Manchester Piccadilly in just 16 minutes by train and the airport in 15 minutes by car. Cheadle Hulme’s quaint yet cosmopolitan village centre is full of character with a variety of independent shops, florists and coffee shops, craft beer pubs and two amateur theatre houses. There is also beautiful woodland nearby for a relaxing country walk.
The 1960s building will be stripped back to its shell and reinvigorated with a stunning new façade and landscaped grounds. The apartments will be designed to Inspired’s usual high specification with hardwood flooring, granite worktops and designer bathrooms.
Commenting, Martin Skinner, Chief Executive of Inspired Homes, said: “When I said in my New Year’s statement that we wanted to make 2017 the best year ever, it has certainly started with a bang. Inspired House will be our first development in the north and promises to excite. We have always looked for high growth areas that are well-connected and affordable to young professionals. Cheadle Hulme ticks those boxes with relatively low house prices, fast trains into Manchester City Centre and a new state-of-the-art £800m business hub, Manchester’s Airport City scheme, being built less than five miles away from our development.”
